Assessment for the acquisition of skills

Our purpose of assessment at this stage is mainly to identify the strengths and weakness of children and take appropriate action. Hence our teachers have to be a keen observer of the children in all their activities.Good assessment of children’s learning is based on day-to-day observations of, and interactions with, children in a wide range of situations. These observations allow teachers to learn about the children’s interests, experiences, strengths and areas for development. The information gathered is essential when deciding how children are learning can be taken forward, both individually and collectively. The children’s efforts and achievements should be recognized, shared with them and recorded. In a given school year, the assessments can be reported once in 3 months
